Starfield Retreat and Camping at Hafeez Family Farm

BEFORE ARRIVAL
• You will receive a booking confirmation from www.offgridspots.com which will also contain helpful guidelines for your arrival.
• We will text you any further instructions the night before, or the morning of your arrival date if needed.

GENERAL
• We are off-grid with no electrical hook-ups but we do have electric sockets available where you can recharge devices.
• There is a shared bathroom located near the RV, for toilet use and washing up with hot water.
• We also have bins for recycling various types of waste. We expect our guest to keep the setting natural and not throw any non-perishable items in the camping area, this may invite wild animals (hogs, foxes, cats, deer, racoons, etc.) to invade the camping area and may lead to destruction of personal items.
• Please be aware that the field may be on a slight slope, depending upon which area of the farm you are placed, it is not extreme and shouldn’t send you sliding down your tent, however, we feel it is important to be aware of the slope before booking.
• Our camping field is natural and not manicured, when not used for camping it is used for grazing sheep, horses and other livestock animals.
• All facilities and the field itself are be monitored every day and kept clean and safe.
• There is a small country store located on the farm, in the barn, less than 5 minutes’ walk from the camping field. The store sells a range of products including 1 gallon water bottles, ice bags, cold drinks (non-alcoholic), ice-cream, packaged foods, fire fuel (logs, charcoal, kindling & firelighters), sleeping bags and other general items.
• We also have Community Coffee available in the country store.

CAMPING AREA (Pitch):
• Camping areas are suitable for tents, bell tents, and trailer tents. Small camper vans can be accommodated in the main field, near the barn but before the Starfield Resort and camping gate entry.
• With over 40 available tent sites (pitches) over 30 acres, your tent area will be both spacious and private.
• All pitches are marked by a neon wood post.
• Each pitch can have a fire ring, but need to be registered during booking and rented from our farm store. These rings have been approved by the local fire marshal. Each fir ring rental comes with fire kit which includes 1 stack of logs, kindling (small starter firestick), and matches.
• We highly recommend that you DO NOT forage for wood or any burning material. The falling twigs, tree limbs, logs and leaves have a vast variety of wildlife and insects living on them and should be left in their natural habitat.

CAMP RULES:
By staying with us you are agreeing to this camping code which we have put in place to ensure everyone enjoys their stay with us.

GENERAL:
• DO NOT INTERACT WITH WILDLIFE- DO NOT PET, FEED, PLAY, TAUNT OR RUN AFTER. THESE ARE WILD ANIMALS AND WILL ATTACK.

• We do not accommodate unaccompanied under 18’s.
• We are off-grid so you will not be able to plug anything in on the campsite.

• No music or loud noise before 8:30 am or past 10:30 pm and no amplified music.

• The main gate will be closed and locked between 11 pm and 6 am for the safety and security of campers and the farm.

• Check in is at 1 pm and check out is by 11 am. If you are arriving after 11 pm, please contact the Farm Manager so the gate can be unlocked upon your arrival.

• Please be aware and sensitive to the fact that Hafeez Family Farm is a working farm. We have taken all important safety precautions, but we ask that you are respectful and careful of staff, customers, property and vehicles.

• No more than 1 vehicle is permitted per campsite, you can take your car to your campsite to unload but you are then required to leave your car in the space provided for vehicles by the barn area.

• No vehicles (except campervans) are allowed on the field after dark.
• We do not accommodate caravans or motorhomes.

• Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times on site. Starfield Retreat and camping will accept no responsibility for any personal injury sustained on our premises. Likewise, we accept no responsibility for visitor’s property.

• Starfield Retreat and camping is not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your Booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but will not be limited to) war, terrorism, serious crime, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.

PETS:
• We are certainly pet friendly, but for the sake of other campers we only permit up to 2 pets per pitch.

• Pets must be declared when booking and with prior agreement. We ask that all pets are kept on a leash and ID, and not left alone on the campsite or in the parked vehicle.

• The pets must not cause a nuisance to other guests or livestock.
• Campers are expected to clean up after their Pets (bury and fully cover the pet waste in the ground). If these conditions are not met you will be asked to remove your dog from the site and charged extra fees.

CAMPFIRES:
Campfires are permitted but they must be contained in the approved fire rings.
Please do not use your own fire rings or light a fire in open area. This is for your safety and the safety of the other campers.

Fire rings, logs and kindling must be purchased from the farm store during
booking or by cash or card when at the property. We do not permit you to bring your own wood to the campsite, or to collect firewood on site – please keep in mind that the sticks found around the site are homes to the wildlife.

Small scale BBQs and food warming on fire is permitted and you may bring your own charcoal, alternatively, charcoal and Charcoal fuel are available to purchase on site.

We reserve the right to ban campfires and BBQs at any time if we deem it unsafe, an example of this is in extreme weather conditions.

FIRE SAFETY:
• Fire extinguishers are available at the marked points on site.
• Tents must be pitched at a minimum of 25 feet apart.
• Campfires must be attended at all times by an adult and entirely extinguished before you going to sleep in the tent and prior to leaving the site. Do not walk away from the burning fire and leaving it un-attended
